Projects
ÁMÀL Ensemble
ÁMÀL Ensemble consists of young musicians from Syria, Siberia, Mexico and France.
Amal is Arabic for hope, and that is exactly what the band brings – an eclectic mix of Arabic melodies, Latin American grooves and improvisational jazz that makes you forget your boundaries and connects worlds.
Kinan works here as a Buzuk player, composer & arranger.

Kinan & Anan project
Kinan & Anan is an ongoing musical initiative created by two young Syrian musicians. The project takes the form of a bicycle tour across the Netherlands, presenting performances in cities and villages while creating meaningful artistic encounters along the way.
The tour began in the summer of 2025, featuring ten public concerts in eight different locations. Throughout the journey, the musicians collaborated with Syrian and Dutch guest performers based in the visited cities, enriching each concert through shared musical dialogue.
Beyond the stage, the project also includes visits to asylum centres (AZCs), where the musicians connect with resident artists and organize music activities with children. Through these encounters, Kinan & Anan highlights the power of music in building connection, belonging, and community.
The project continues to grow, with future performances and collaborations planned.

Kimya Band
Kimya Band is a celebration of co-creation, collective artistry, and the fusion of diverse musical traditions. By blending original compositions with innovative soundscapes, the project transcends cultural and stylistic boundaries, creating a synergy in which 1 + 1 equals 3. Rooted in lived experience, Kimya Band thrives through musical exploration, authenticity, and genuine collaboration.
Founded many years ago as a cross-cultural co-creation initiative, Kimya aims to dissolve boundaries through music. With Kinan Abuakel and Hannibal Saad as core members, the band invites new musicians for each project, forming a dynamic and evolving musical constellation.
